Devyani Nath

Devyani maintains a dual practice spanning IP litigation and transactional IP, with significant experience in complex commercial negotiations. In her litigation role, she handles disputes involving trademarks, designs, copyrights, and patents for clients across industries such as textiles, FMCG, technology, ed-tech, and healthcare. She frequently appears before the Delhi High Court in contentious matters, engages in settlement negotiations, explores alternative dispute resolution mechanisms like mediation, and coordinates litigation across various courts in India. Notably, she played a key role in the litigation that led to the Delhi High Court declaring KHADI a well-known trademark.

Beyond litigation, Devyani is an integral part of the firm’s media and entertainment team. She advises clients on licensing, copyright protection, and contract negotiations, and has experience drafting and reviewing a wide range of media-related agreements. Her work includes advising on complex issues involving copyright collecting societies, as well as providing strategic counsel on reprographic and music licensing.

Devyani’s practice also includes advising clients on legal and regulatory compliance, including guidelines issued by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI), and the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA).

She is a member of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) and regularly attends its annual conferences. She also represents the firm at leading media and entertainment industry events, including All About Music.
