Tanya’s practice primarily focuses on litigation and enforcement. She supervises civil and criminal anti-counterfeiting actions for clients from diverse sectors. She works extensively on issues concerning pharmaceutical trademarks, advertising laws, intermediary liabilities including e-commerce, cyber-squatting and rogue domains, internet, data privacy and issues of phishing and data theft and related rules and regulations under consumer protection laws.
Tanya is an active member of the International Trademarks Association (INTA) and is currently the Co-Chair for the Global Advisory Council to the INTA for South Asia. She is also the Chair for Non-Traditional Marks – South Asia Subcommittee for the 2024–2025 term. In 2020–2021, Tanya chaired the South Asia Subcommittee of the Anti-Counterfeiting Committee.
Tanya has been a moderator and speaker on several local and global panels on issues ranging from intermediary liability, to enforcement of trademark rights, to anti-counterfeiting and enforcement in the wake of COVID-19 disruption in India—the online marketplace perspective, to non-traditional marks—perspectives from South Asia. She has also represented INTA at a workshop which discussed the Customs IPR (Export-Import) Rule 2019 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Tanya regularly trains Customs officials and Police officers on IP issues in collaboration with CIPAM/DIPP, Government of India and with REACT.
